2018 TMEA All-State Results
This past weekend, judging was held for the TMEA Texas All-State Orchestra- Area Competition and the official results have been released. We are happy to announce that Jasper had 10 students who earned this title!
All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive. 1,600 students are selected through a process that begins with over 65,000 students from around the state vying for this honor to perform in one of 15 ensembles (bands, orchestras, and choirs). This competitive process begins throughout the state in auditions hosted by 31 TMEA Regions. Individual musicians perform selected music for a panel of judges who rank each instrument or voice part. From this ranking, a select group of musicians advances from their Region to compete against musicians from other Regions in seven TMEA Area competitions. The highest-ranking musicians judged at the TMEA Area competitions qualify to perform in a TMEA All-State music group. These All-State students participate in three days of rehearsals directed by nationally recognized conductors during the annual state TMEA Clinic/Convention with moderenechild.com . Their performances before thousands of attendees bring this extraordinary event to a close.

Audition Results 2017-18
Dear Orchestra Members,
Below are the orchestra placements for the 2017-2018 school year. Mr. Davis and I want for you know that we put a great deal of thought in to the placements and that each of your were placed in an ensemble that will give you the most opportunity for your musical growth to shine. A few things to remember:
1) The Jasper Orchestra auditions are very competitive because of the very high quality of training you all receive at Rice and Robinson. The upside of this is that all of our orchestras are very much above average for their level and will be a rewarding musical environment for you.
2) You are so much more than simply a person in a class period. Regardless of what class you are in, take it as an opportunity to excel and distinguish yourself in a positive manner. It will pay off!
Later on next week, you will all be receiving some music from our first concert next year if you’re looking for something to practice over the summer. Have a great summer, and I can’t wait to see everyone next year!
